export floor plan file formats

What would be super fantastic would be if you could export the plan once its finished to say a 3d format for import into say 3dsmax, maya, softimage etc.
I am currently laying out my flooplan and will probably end up saving the image and loading that into a 3d program to trace and extrude. At least if the walls could be exported that would be cool. It would also be great to be able to export as an illustrator file but I can see that might end up making floorplanner redundant.
Otherwise this is a great tool, it needs work on the interface. As others have said before it’s rather confusing initially.

We are working on various export options. They will be introduced to the PLUS and PRO versions in the future.
We are also doing some finetuning on the initial screens. Thanks for your feedaback

The image export is quite good, but it would be nice if the hard drawn dimensions are included in the image also. Since they can be turned on/off people can decide before export whether they want a clean image or not.

Hi, there seems to be a bug in the Export option in that it doesn’t seem to export the dimensions i have added (using the “draw single wall…” tool) or the dimensions shown by the “dimensions on/off” tool. I would really like to export my plan with this info.

Thanks.

Hi, thanks for mentioning this, and sorry for the late reaction, we somehow missed your posts. The image export options you and Sondergaard mention are something we are working on, somewhere in the near future we have planned a major update where this will be possible, but for the moment it is still on our to-do list. What you can do, is zoom in as far as you wish and make a printscreen ( Windows: printscreen button; Mac: CMD + SHIFT + 4 ) when you have the dimensions on.
I hope this helps you out a little.
