Elements disappearing

I have now several times added windows and a balcony and then saved my plan. When I resume the work a while later after having logged in again these elements are just gone. Very disturbing!

Hello Martin,
Sorry to hear that, it’s not supposed to happen of course. Could you give us the link to your plan, and tell us which browser type you use from which country, then we’ll try to see what goes wrong.
kind regards,
Nico

I haven’t had this happen yet with physical elements as the user above, but this does happen consistently for me with the comments in the original Floor Planner (not sure which version the user above is referring to). I can pretty much reproduce it every time. Let’s say I add a comment to every room (title of room, for instance). After saving and going back to the drawing (same session or new session), more than 75% of the comments are gone and that aren’t always the same.

I have verified this on IE6, IE7 and Opera 9. I don’t want to post the link to my plans on the forum, but if there is a support e-mail address I can send the link to, I’m happy to do that. Perhaps it will help both myself and the above user.

Hi Shaun,
Thanks for posting this issue; You can send the url to nico@floorplanner.com, then we can have a look at it, it will not be made public. We are aware of this problem and looking for what may be the cause of it. We’ll keep people posted on the progress in this forum topic.

Hello Shaun,

We may have found the cause of the problem of the disappearing textobjects and are working on a solution. To be sure if it’s the same problem, could you please tell / test the following: Do the texts that disappear contain a single quote or ( that may be used to indicate inches ) or a backslash, or some other special symbol?

thanks in advance,

Nico

I just fixed the bug and updated the original floorplanner. You may have to clear your browser cache for the changes to take place. Texts should now appear whatever characters they contain. If this still doesn’t fix the problem, please let me know here. Right now I’m going to check if the same issue is a problem in the Beta of Floorplanner 4.0.

The bug is fixed in the Beta-version now too. This will also solve some of the problems people had with viewing plans in 3D.
cheers,

Martin,
Does this problem still occur after you clear you browser cache?

Whew! You’re too fast! I was just about to e-mail you the link (I’ve been busy)...

Seems to work fine now. I had issues both with single quotes and not containing single quotes, but both are working good. Thanks a bunch!
