I created a single measure line (interior measure) of 8 ft in length. Then I made 4 measure lines (interior measure) of 2 ft in length each. When I layed them tip to tip, snapping them into place, my 4 2ft lengths were longer than my 8ft length. Now as far as I can tell, when the measures snap into place and the pointers are directly in line touching, and I’ve zoomed in as tight as possible to verify this as well as possible, it should be zero sum, 2ft + 2ft = 4ft, etc.
But instead I found that my 4 2ft segments added up to between 8’1” and 8’2”.
I would love some verification on this, maybe I’m just not quite squared away on what I’m doing.
Thanks,

Hi R, This happens due to the automatic rounding up or down that we do in the Floorplanner code. Measures may appear rounded down to inches or cm onscreen, but maintain their true value. Adding them up, which happens when they snap to eachother, can therefor result in more than 1 inch or cm. We have had some thought about setting measure sizes automatically by the textinput in the properties, but we notice people also want to have a manual input for the size without changing the arrowsize. Floorplanner is not meant to be a CAD software with very precise measures, but more as a planning tool that everybody can work with. I hope this clears the issue up for you.
Btw: Thanks for your post, we’ll think about this issue. Would it help you if you can snap linears to the grid, or does the custom input work best for you?
kind regards,
